The Grassroots Prevention Coalition of Clark County is a group of concerned adults, youth, community organizations, businesses, schools, parents, law enforcement officials and others working together to reduce youth alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. The coalition uses materials and methods that have been proven to prevent drug use by working with youth and their families in schools and in communities. The coalition began in 1999 under an incentive grant from the State of Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction and has expanded services through additional local, regional and federal funding. The coalition’s continuing success can be found in its many educational and community activities including its conferences, town hall meetings and its unique partnerships such as the Joe Lear Walk for Community Awareness, and its Life Skills training through the Greater Clark school system.
